Living Earth TV: The All-Ireland Pollinator Plan- how you can help

Od maj 20, 2021 17:30

This is a free event, open to the general public. )One third of our 98 wild bee species are threatened with extinction from the island of Ireland. In publishing the first All-Ireland Pollinator Plan in 2015, Ireland became one of the first countries in Europe to address this issue – in order to ensure the sustainability of our food, avoid additional economic impacts on agriculture, and protect the health of the environment. The first phase of the Plan has been very successful and has led to positive changes across all sectors. A new version has just been launched for 2021-2025. Join Dr Una Fitzpatrick developer of about the plan, to learn about the challenges pollinators face, and how we can all help. Lots of small actions, together, make a big difference.

Dr. Una FitzPatrick is a Senior Ecologist with the National Biodiversity data centre. Úna is responsible for the development of, and oversees delivery of, the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan, and is responsible for the plant and vegetation work programmes of the Data Centre.

This event is being hosted by Bealtaine Living Earth Festival (http://www.livingearth.ie/). Register on the site to join the Zoom and ask questions live, or watch the live stream.
